About Us Here at Emerald Goddess Gardens, we strive to provide stellar products and growing tips that reflect our home-grown values. As a third generation female owned and operated small business, family is one of the most important parts of what we do. We are proud to have held on to many of the forgotten histories of the heirloom plants we grow today. Some might say the green thumb gene runs in our family, but we like to think our success comes from the decades worth of hands-on experience that we share with each other and with every order that leaves our nursery. We can't do it all by ourselves though, so we continually aim to provide a flexible environment that works for our diverse female majority team. The hands that carefully select plants for our orders are an essential part of the family that our matriarch has grown to include women from varied economic, social, and cultural backgrounds. Some of our most prized plants are those that are hard to find or no longer exist in nature. Maintaining stock on endangered and rare species allows us to increase accessibility for all while ultimately contributing to conservation efforts through commercial reproduction. Native species diversity and protection is very important to us. We take steps to ensure we never unknowingly transport invasive insects or plant pathogens and as such are qualified to ship plants to all 50 states year-round. The Emerald Goddess Gardens family grows every day as we establish and maintain relationships with our customers nationwide. Welcome to the family, let's get growing! Pink Thai Crown of Thorns Growing Cacti Outside the USDA Recommended Zone Range Cacti & Succulents present interesting challenges to growing in cold weather climates. They will require substantial light supplementation, high temperatures, and minimal watering with excellent drainage. Keep outdoors when temperatures are above 60 degrees. Water sparingly, only when the top 2 to 3 inches of soil are visibly very dry. Provide supplemental full spectrum light at 600 candles for 12 to 18 hours per day. Cacti & Succulents No Water? No Problem. Cacti and succulents are the perfect choice for any notoriously neglectful gardener. With very little water or maintenance, this group of plants can provide elegant foliar interest or even stunning blooms throughout the year. Our Cacti & Succulent category is unified by common traits. All plants in this grouping will have very high light needs and require little watering. Blue Agave: A classic upright succulent. Sharply thorned leaves poke from the center in a uniform rosette. Desert Rose: Native to the tropics of Africa, this plant provides interest with an unusually shaped caudex and vibrant Summer flowers. Crown of Thorns: Thick stemmed, thorny succulent plants in the Euphorbia genus. Known for providing year-round blooms.
