Product Description

Catch Fruit Flies Quickly and Easily!! Do you have pesky fruit flies flying in or around your kitchen? These pests hang out near fruit bowls, trash cans, or near liquids like fruit juice, wine, and beer. If you see the insects near your potted plants, they are most likely fungus gnats and our trap won’t work well for them. However, if you have determined they are fruit flies, great news our simple but highly effective trap can help you get rid of them! How the trap works... Add some fruit to it like a banana. By using real fruit like a banana you are using bait that every fruit fly is attracted to so there won’t be any question about whether or not you get results. In a few hours, some fruit flies should have located the slice of banana in the trap. Those fruit flies will release a pheromone to signal to the other fruit flies that they found a food source. Soon enough more and more fruit flies will locate the banana within the trap! Once the trap has a good amount of fruit flies in it, simply cover the trap with the included lid and release them outside. We understand some people don’t want to do this, you can either toss the trap in the freezer for a few minutes to kill them, or rinse the trap out with hot water. You can also experiment with apple cider vinegar, beer, or wine which will cause the fruit flies to drown themselves. The trap is ready to be used again! Follow the 3 steps above over again for the next few days to completely rid your home of all of the fruit flies. For best results please make sure your kitchen is clean and the only food source for the fruit flies is the bait you put within the trap. 1. Add Fruit Add a slice or two of banana. You can experiment with other fruit as well. You may also try, apple cider vinegar, beer, or wine. However, bananas tend to work best. 2. Place Trap On Your Counter Put the trap closest to where you see the most fruit fly activity. The vented funnel design allows the aroma of the fruit to fill the room. The fruit flies will smell it and fly over to the trap. The funnel provides a clear path for the fruit flies to find a way into the trap. Once inside, it is difficult for them to find their way back out. 3. Cover With Lid After about 24 hours, you will have some fruit flies caught, cover the trap with the lid and bring it outside. 4. Release the Fruit Flies Outside Once outside, simply let them go. It is a good idea to release the flies outside every day or so. Add some fresh fruit and you can then place the trap back on your counter to be used again! You can also wash fruit flies down the drain, however, letting them go outside is easier and more humane. 1 2 3 4 (function(f) {var _np=(window.P._namespace("AplusModule"));if(_np.guardFatal){_np.guardFatal(f)(_np);}else{f(_np);}}(function(P) { // register javascript with unique module id P.when("jQuery", "AplusModules-module-6", "ready").execute(function($, hoverModule) { hoverModule("aplus-module-6-2"); }); })); The Ultimate Fruit Fly Trap Uses real fruit or apple cider vinegar to naturally attract fruit flies Vented funnel design allows the aroma of the bait to fill the room Funnel makes it easy for fruit flies to find a way in, and difficult to find their way out Reusable Non-toxic and safe Electronic Mosquito Trap Uses a UV light which WILL attract mosquitoes, gnats, and moths. UV lights will NOT attract fruit flies Requires constant power May require repurchase of sticky pads Sticky Trap Fruit flies have no reason to land on these pads unless some sort of fruit or bait is placed near it These traps are designed to be placed in potted plants to capture gnats and other insects, not fruit flies May get stuck to pets or children, be careful when using Standard Fruit Fly Trap Multiple holes make it easy for fruit flies to find their way into the trap but also making it easy to find their way out. It may not provide the best results Some of these traps require the purchase of liquid refills as an ongoing expense Typically, only liquid-type bait can be used with these traps which means less options Read more Vented Funnel Design Our vented funnel design allows the aroma of the fruit to fill the room as if it was sitting on the by itself. This makes it easy for fruit flies to pick up the scent of the fruit inside the trap. The funnel gives them a clear path to follow to the bait. Once inside, it is difficult for them to find their way out as there is no scent for them to follow to lead them out. A few may get lucky, however, the vast majority of them don't find their way out. Read more Which pest do you have? Fruit Fly Light Brown Body Red Eyes Usually found In kitchens, near ripened fruit or garbage. Gnat Black or dark grey body Black eyes Usually found near moist soil or potted plants. House Fly Black body Red eyes Usually found near decaying organic matter, food waste Drain Fly Brown body, furry, and moth-like Black eye color Usually found around sinks or drains Read more Does this trap kill fruit flies? Yes, once the fruit flies are in the trap, simply cover the trap with the included lid and place it in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Discard the bait, rinse out the trap and it is ready to be used again! You can also use apple cider vinegar as bait and the fruit flies will eventually drown themselves. Does this trap work? Yes, it 100% works. Simply put, fruit flies are attracted to fruit. Whether you place a slice of banana out in the open on your counter, or inside the trap, the fruit flies will eventually find the banana and land on it. They get stuck inside the trap because it is difficult for them to find a way out. Can fruit flies escape the trap? Yes, some fruit flies can escape. However, about 95% of them will remain trapped. It is difficult for them to find their way out because there is only one exit and there is no food source leading them outside of the trap. It is good practice to empty and clean the trap every day or so. If do that, the fruit fly population will quickly diminish and you will be fruit fly free in no time! Why are you supposed to release the fruit flies outside? It is easiest to cover the trap with the included lid and then let them fly freely outside. It is unlikely they will find their way back in and fruit flies want to enjoy their lives too. ;) However, if you don't want to do that, no problem! Simply cover the trap with the lid and toss the trap in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Rinse the trap out and you're ready to use it again! Will maggots grow inside the trap? Yes, they will if the trap is not emptied and cleaned every few days. The fruit flies will begin to reproduce inside the trap. That is why we highly recommend that you empty the contents outside and rinse out the trap every day or so. What insects will it catch? It will catch fruit flies in which is what it was designed for. It will not provide great results for house flies, gnats, or other insects. Please make sure you have fruit flies and not a similar-looking insect like a gnat. If you see the insects in your kitchen around fruit or other food then they are most likely fruit flies. If you see them flying around potted plants they are most likely gnats. Why is the trap so small? Simply put, it doesn't need to be any bigger. The trap can hold thousands of fruit flies despite its small design. The small size also makes it easier to place out of sight if you choose to do so. Do I need to add sticky pads? No, the trap will work fine with no sticky pads. Please feel free to message us with any other questions and we will be happy to help! Happy trapping!

Product Features

? EASY TO USE - Simply add a small piece of fruit or apple cider vinegar to this fruit fly catcher and place it wherever you see fruit flies. In a short amount of time, there will be a few fruit flies in the cup. After about 24 hours there will be a fruit fly party in your trap!

♻️ REUSABLE - Save money as this will be the last fruit fly killer you will have to buy. Other indoor fruit fly traps require you to repurchase liquid refills or glue pads. Our trap can be used over and over again for a lifetime just by adding your favorite fruit fly bait.

? NON-TOXIC AND SAFE - Sticky pads may get stuck to pets or children. Some traps that require liquid may be toxic. Our lightweight plastic design requires only natural fruit fly bait and makes it safe to use around children and pets.

?‍? ENJOY COOKING & EATING - Fruit flies can make cooking or eating an unpleasant experience and may even contaminate your food. Our small, transparent, but effective design can be placed pretty much anywhere in the kitchen or home without taking up a lot of room and blending in with your decor.

? WHY IT WORKS - Our trap uses fruit as bait, which is what fruit flies are naturally attracted to. The fruit scent flows through the vented funnel attracting and trapping the fruit flies. Our trap is highly effective for fruit flies, but not very effective for house flies, gnats, or drain flies.
